    Dear Bro!
Your posts are simply remarkable, helping others to learn oracle. The tutorial on grid control is excellent, but while installing agent on host I get the following error. Please tell us every step as we are new into oracle world.

    sql> ./agentDownload.linux -b “/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0” -c “gcontrol”

Adding execute permissions to unzip …

    Hi there,
well i prefer to use cloning method, like this i have the same level of patches for my agents.

take a tar file from fresh installation with all patches
    untar at target
    $ORACLE_HOME_AGENT/oui/bin/runInstaller -detachHome $ORACLE_HOME_AGENT -invptrloc xxx
$ORACLE_HOME_AGENT/oui/bin/runInstaller -clone -forceClone ORACLE_HOME=xxx ORACLE_HOME_NAME=agent_home -noconfig -silent -invptrloc xxx ORACLE_HOSTNAME=xxx (if you’re using virtual adresses)
modify $ORACLE_HOME_AGENT/sysman/config/OUIInventories.add (if you have several installations on Inventory)
modify $ORACLE_HOME_AGENT/sysman/config/emd.properties (AgentListenOnAllNics if you’re using virtual adress)
    agentca -f -t -d
modify $ORACLE_HOME_AGENT/sysman/emd/targets.xml to reflect your Oracle instance (name, port etc …)
    emctl secure agent

  8. Try to set the following environment variable and try again
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin:$PATH

    Hello Kamran,
I have installed oracle 10g on my windows machine and created 4 databases, can I configure OEM grid control on the same machine and monitor all the 4 databases as well as other databases which are on othermachines and are connected by LAN what are the prerequisite for the same I need to start it from scratch.
Do you have any document on the same. Thanks
With Database control I can monitor only 1 database at a time.
I am new to OEM so might be wrong while explaining you.

    Thanks a lot.

  16. Sure you can. Just register all databases at OEM. I’ve shown how to do it in this video tutorial
